From Bondage To Promise
a Staged Reading
Co-Sponsored by the Sunday School Union of Fluvanna County
UpStage / Friday, February 24 & Saturday, February 25, 8pm
This complex and moving piece was compiled from narratives, speeches and interviews with slaves, civil rights workers and leaders. This piece moves from the days of slavery to what we believe is a promise of the tomorrow we all want to leave for our children; the one we hope we can help them create. We hope that the presentation of these ancestors and contemporaries will enlighten you, give you a new understanding and appreciation for the journey, and that you will learn something you may not have known before.
A reception and talk-back will be held following the performance.

Circle Mirror Transformation
DownStage / March 2 - 24, 2012
Four people in small town Vermont get more than they bargained for when they enroll in Marty's six-week-long community-center drama class. An intimate, fun, physical piece that slowly builds with surprising emotional power, Annie Baker's Obie award-winning comedy is a wryly observed study of the games grown-up kids play -- and often wish they hadn't.
Adding Machine: A Musical
UpStage / April 20 - May 12, 2012
Mr. Zero may be a hen-pecked schlub who smacks around his wife and peeps in on the prostitute across the street, but after 25 years of working as an “Add” man he deserves a promotion. So when he learns that he is being replaced by a mechanical adding machine, is it any wonder that Mr. Zero snaps?
