These intensive workshops specialize in every aspect of Musical Theater including: solo and choral performance, working with an accompanist, dancing and musical choreography, acting, improvisation, and auditioning.

The Musical Theater Camp offers a team of talented instructors along with special guest artists who will be your guides on the side. Each session will culminate with a showcase performance including song, dance and scenes that will spotlight your talent. Because of its popularity, we are offering two separate sessions of musical theater.

SESSION 3: FROM PAGE TO STAGE -- Bringing a New Musical to Live Arts (Two levels: 8 - 12 years old, or 13-17 years old)
July 23 – July 27 (with performances on July 28th)
Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 3:30pm

In this ALL NEW one-week intensive camp, students will work with playwright and musician Paul Reisler and director Bree Luck to bring selected scenes from the new teen musical, Bouncin’, to the stage. In addition to developing selected scenes from the play, each student will write their own songs with the talented folks of Kid Pan Alley. This camp will culminate with a performance of selected scenes, songs and dances from Bouncin’.

** Please note: This camp will have two performances on Saturday, July 28th at 10am and 11:30am.**

SESSION 4: PLAYMAKERS’ INTENSIVE (Two levels: 8 - 12 years old, or 13-17 years old)
July 30 – August 10
Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 3:30pm

In this intensive theater camp, students will develop their own one-act productions from concept to performance. Through master classes in playwriting, acting, blocking, set design and construction, costume design, lighting design, and stage management, young people will work with Live Arts instructors to bring their creative ideas to fruition on the Live Arts stage! This workshop will culminate with a showcase of student work.

STORY CIRCUS SUMMER!

Story Circus (ages 4-7)

Mondays - Friday, 5pm-6pm
Session 1: July 9 -13 -- Playing With: Snow White and Rose Red

Session 2: July 16-20 -- Playing With: The Pied Piper of Hamelin

Tuition: $75, or $67.50 for Friends of Live Arts
Does your child beg to wear dress-up clothes to kindergarten? Would your pre-schooler rather play imaginative games than eat? In this playful forum for creative exploration, budding young actors will join in dynamic theater games that celebrate the imaginative child’s desire to make-believe! Our youngest thespians will create a theatrical retelling of a classic fairy-tale or folk-tale, through exercises and games that will help the children develop skills in storytelling, attentiveness, listening, and creative expression. This workshop will culminate in a 10 minute demonstration of some of the games and exercises the children play.

We offer 100% tuition refunds for courses canceled by Live Arts.
We offer a 100% refund, minus a 5 dollar processing fee for withdrawal made at least 7 days BEFORE the class begins.
We do not offer any refund for withdrawals made in the 7 days before a class/camp begins or thereafter.
